- LETTERS, Page 6Furor over Fang
-
-
- Washington lacks the will to effectively protest human rights
- abuse in China (WORLD, March 13). The squashing of dissident Fang
- Lizhi and the killing of Tibetans are merely the latest examples
- of inhumanity typical of the Chinese Communist Party. George Bush
- has raised only the wimpiest voice in objection. It will be up to
- us to protest. China desperately needs foreign currency, a major
- source of which is tourist dollars. Americans should renounce
- travel to China until it stops brutalizing its own people.
